LEMON LAW FIRM
NEW JERSEY LEMON LAWS
If you purchased a car that is still under warranty but is frequently in the repair shop and the dealer or manufacturer refuses to stand by the warranty, you may have a potential “lemon” on your hands.
You’ll need a New Jersey Lemon Law lawyer who can help you get restitution, usually via a settlement or in court.
NEW CAR LEMON LAW
New Jersey’s New Car Lemon Law protects you when you purchase a new motor vehicle that develops serious warranty defects which the dealer or manufacturer cannot repair. The law covers vehicles during the first two years from the original date of delivery or 24,000 miles - whichever comes first. To qualify for relief under the Lemon Law, the defect must substantially impair the use, value or safety of your vehicle, or be a “serious safety defect” which is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven.
BREACH OF WARRANTY
For vehicles that do not fall within the specifications set forth by the new car lemon law, you may still be entitled to relief based on a breach of warranty.
The Federal Mangason Moss Warranty Act protects consumers who lease or purchase products for personal use. If they do not work as promised under a written contract or service agreement and cannot be fixed within a reasonable time, the Mangason Moss Warranty Act provides the consumer a remedy.
The remedy for breach of warranty is a cash settlement for the diminished value of the vehicle.
